Dear all,
k.
My husband and me are going to have a baby. We are native Spanish speakers who live in Germany but work and socialise in an English speaking context. We know that we are going to speak Spanish only at home and that our son is going to attend an international school where English is the language of instruction. That way we are confident that he is going to become a balanced bilingual.
Our concerns are with German, though, the language which he is going to be less exposed to. Shall we send him to a German speaking kindergarden before he goes to the English speaking pre-school? At the international school German is taught as a foreign language from Grade 1 onwards, would it be wise to wait until then?

Thanks in advance,
Gloria
