My husband and I intend to move to Japan in a few years time, and while we have no solid plans to have children, we have been wondering what we should do language-wise if we do. We are both from the UK so we both speak English, but I also speak Welsh as a native language and would very much like to pass that on to my family. How much of each language should be spoken at home? Should I speak exclusively Welsh and my husband exclusively English? Should we send them to a normal Japanese school or an English speaking international school? Should we attempt to teach some Japanese at home? I have learned some basic conversational Japanese and of course I will try my best to become fluent after moving.
Thanks [smile]
