Hi all

My wife and i are raising my child using 2 languages at home.
My wife mostly speaks cantonese (sometimes with bit of english because she forgot!) and i speak in indonesian.
We both speak in english and live in english speaking country.
My child is now 8 months old and we have been doing this not long after birth.

However we are bit unsure what to do when we read him books because all the books that we can get here are all in English.
So far we have been reading the books in English because the text are in English. So, perhaps virtually this is the only time that we speak english to my child.

Is this a good approach?

Also, we plan to put him to long day care when he turns one for 3 days per week (english) and the other 2 days with my in laws who speak cantonese.

Will he get confused by introducing 3rd language (english) as early as one year old?

Our aim is to have him be able to communicate fluently (at least at speaking and listening) and minimise speech delay esp when he goes to school ..

Guidance and suggestions r welcome

Thanks in advance.
